ACM Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI)

ACM Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI) is the largest organization dedicated to human-computer interaction. It was founded in 1982 and has around 5,500 members (2003).

SIGCHI sponsors and co-sponsors some of the main conferences on human-computer interaction, such as CHI, DIS and UIST. It has many local chapters in and outside the US and it operates a number of mailing lists.

Membership is coordinated through ACM. It is not necessary to be a member of ACM in order to join SIGCHI.
