Job Description:

Analyze and solve design problems with truly complex web-based transactional tools used by medium and large businesses to manage their telecommunications networks for variable voice, data, and video services. Ideal candidates will be interested in thinking through issues at many different levels from down to the pixels up through the holistic customer experience, and making sense out of reams of technical detail. We are seeking an interaction designer/visual designer to design, prototype, and evaluate telecommunications network self-service applications for our client’s largest business customers. This position provides extensive opportunities for hands-on design within the constraints of our client’s global UI guidelines. Ideal candidate will have expertise in developing mockups/prototypes with varying levels of behavior and fidelity, and to flourish in a rapid-paced environment. Our client is a global telecommunications service provider.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in user-centered design of transactional web applications.
  • Degree in human-computer interaction or a related field.
  • Prototyping ability and web experience (e.g., Photoshop, HTML, CSS).
  • Javascript experience is a plus.
  • Ability to translate requirements into effective screen designs and flows.
  • A strong visual design sense regarding screen layout.
  • Experience with usability tests and user research a plus, but direct testing and research activity is not within the current scope of this job description.
  • Knowledge/experience with accessibility issues a plus.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills, characterized by a pragmatic, flexible approach.
  • Comfortable with fast-pace, able to use iterative design to help define and refine business requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and organization skills, including approaching every facet of your job as a design problem
