The project manager is responsible for defining, managing and implementing a broad range of projects for the Executive Director and Project Director.
Responsibilities:
- Consults with Executive Director and Project Director on scope and specific objectives of the project.
- Manages one or more key projects, with accountability to develop project queues.
- Implements proven project management methodologies.
- Ensures project vision and scope are set and roles of team members are clear.
- Monitors and reviews team schedule and deliverable timelines.
- Effectively manages issues, makes recommendations if necessary, and achieves resolution.
- Functions as high level interface to the client, providing project status and expertise on project scope details.
- Ensures multiple teams come in on time, within budget.
- Recommends solutions to conflicts, issues between multiple teams.
- Assists in defining project scope, project plans, specific results and presents to the Executive Director and Project Director for review. Includes facilitation, planning and decision-making regarding appropriate bundling, sequencing, interdependency and prioritization of solution design and development activities. Influences and communicates with Executive Director and Project Director regarding project issues and progress against key milestones.
- Assists in the coordination of resources.
- Monitors and communicates project status on a regular basis to the Executive Director and the Project Director assigned to the project.
- Monitors / Orchestrates project deliverables and results on time, on budget, and meets quality (functionality) expectations
- Manages and leads several project teams to accomplish project tasks, goals and results.
- Manages project financials.
Qualifications:
- Combination of 5+ years direct experience as a technical manager or a manager of complex projects.
- Advanced project management skills training in knowledge areas including project scope control and scheduling.
- Experience in managing multiple complex projects.
- Experience managing projects $1 million in budget and/or above.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
- Demonstrates capability to obtain results in a complex, often ambiguous environment.
- Establishes trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.
- Effectively manages organizational and process change.
- Demonstrates ability to analyze business requirements, identify and manage risk, and remove barriers to successful project execution.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
