DST Systems is looking for a Human Factors Specialist for our Kansas City location. The individual will serve as the lead HF contact for a product area (GUI or Web) and will provide user interface design and usability support to a product team. This position will require mentoring and active participation during product development.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, or another HCI related field
  • Coursework or professional development should be demonstrated in the area of user-centered design and human-computer interaction
  • At least 2 years experience leading user interface design efforts for GUI or Web applications is required.
  • Ability to demonstrate highly effective teamwork and collaborative skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide user interface design and usability support to product development teams
  • Mentor project teams on user-centered design methods, such as contextual inquiry and usability testing
  • Ensure application of current user interface design standards and product consistency
  • Lead training classes on usability and interface design
  • Travel to client sites or remote development sites (Jefferson City or Boston) as required (not exceeding 25% of time)
